Podiatrists undergo years of specialist education and are highly skilled health professionals trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs to keep people mobile and active.
All Podiatrists have to be registered with and are regulated by the health and Care Professions council or HCPC.
Podiatrists are expected to follow a strict code of conduct in their practice and have to demonstrate continual professional development (continuous learning and updating of knowledge).
The names “Podiatrist” and “Chiropodist” are protected and regulated titles under UK law.
